Let your kids see their mama in her joy 

Created in 2023 by dancer and homeschooling mum, Tara Franca, the intention behind Dance, Mum! was to create an opportunity for our kids to watch us prioritising our joy, having fun together and trying something new.

We spend so much time and energy making sure our children's interests are satiated through the week - but do they get to see us pursuing our own?

While it began as a simple dance class, it was never just about a dance class.⁣ It was about the conversations between mum and child that followed.⁣ The core memories made of a mother who knew where to find her joy amidst everyday heartbreak.⁣

How it works

Classes are run in 3/4 week blocks during school terms, at either our Peregian Beach/Currimundi locations.

Because we have a max of 10-12 mums per class (to ensure sufficient space for kids to play/join), casual class spots are only available if a block is not sold out. To be regularly notified of any casual spots, ensure you’re on the mailing list below.

Term 2

CURRIMUNDI

MONDAYS, 10.30am - 11.30am

@ Windansea Community Clubhouse

$70 for 3 weeks / $25 casual spots available

Dates:

15 April - 29 April (3 weeks due to public holiday)

PEREGIAN BEACH

THURSDAYS, 10.45am - 11.45am

@ Peregian Beach Community House

$95 for 4 weeks / TBC $25 casual spots (if block not sold out)

Dates:

18 April - 9 May (4 weeks)

  • If 3/4 week block spots have not sold out (10-12 mums max per class), then I will open up single class spots. Both kids and mums thrive having the weekly commitment and seeing familiar faces, so I suggest coming for all 3/4 weeks if possible. Casual spots will be offered to the mailing list first so make sure you’re subscribed.

  • Yes absolutely. You’ll be prompted at checkout to share the age and number of kids you have, and I do my best to ensure there is age appropriate toys/games available. I bring my 6yo and almost 2yo to the class with me also, and all kids are welcome to join in on the class, roam around us or just watch if they desire.

  • Nope, this is for any mum who wants to learn some choreography, use her brain in a new way and have fun with zero pressure to get it right or look any certain way. Just have fun!
